Career prospects up close: Job Shadowing, Career Talk & Students on Tour

In addition to the keypiece workshops of the respective certificate programme - Perspectives on Sustainability, Digital Transformation or Internationalisation & International Competence - participation in one of the supplementary offers (Job Shadowing, Career Talk or Students on Tour) is also mandatory.

Job shadowing - insights into future working life

Job shadowing gives students an exciting insight into their potential future career field for a day. Organisations or companies open their doors and allow students to get a taste of different areas or departments. This can ultimately be very informative for your own professional orientation and open up opportunities for further internships or even possible job prospects for the future.

    As part of the FLEX Business Administration Basics course with lecturer Sabine Arndt, the successful Brandenburg-based company Spiel-Bau GmbH visited the lecture. The students not only learnt valuable information about founding and managing an international company, but also about the career opportunities available to them after graduation. The excursion was extremely beneficial for both sides and will become a fixed part of the FLEX course content in future.

    ?Ich durfte am 22.07.2025 für einige Stunden hinter die Kulissen von Radio TEDDY schauen. Besonders spannend fand ich, wie Nachrichten für einen Kinder- und Familiensender aufbereitet werden. Faszinierend war, wie viel w?hrend einer Live-Sendung im Studio passiert, um als Team ein angenehmes H?rerlebnis zu schaffen. Ich habe mich auch sehr über den Austausch mit den Mitarbeitenden gefreut, die ihren Weg in den Journalismus und zu Radio TEDDY mit mir geteilt haben.“

    "Der Day of Light 2025 von Selux bot einen spannenden Einblick in die aktuellen Herausforderungen der Leuchtenindustrie und machte deutlich, dass Themen wie Naturschutz dort ernsthaftes Gewicht erhalten. Besonders eindrücklich war der Vortrag ?The Beauty of Less“ von Franziska Holmsted (ZENISK), der die Idee eines ?Weniger“ in der Lichtindustrie zur Diskussion stellte. Dass ein solches Prinzip in einem internen Branchentreffen ernsthaft verhandelt wird, empfand ich als beeindruckend. Für mich war es bereichernd, erstmals an einem solchen Forum teilzunehmen und zu erleben, wie Unternehmen wie Selux den Austausch und die Vernetzung in der Branche f?rdern."

Career Talk

At the Career Talk, employers and employees talk about their career paths as well as current opportunities and possibilities in their companies. The audience learns more about the career paths that can open up with a degree and receives practical first-hand tips on how to fulfil the dream of the ideal job without any detours.

Career Talks are regularly organised in a wide range of sectors. Current dates are published on the Work@Heart website.
