Cultivating broad perspectives and diverse values in arts students
The purpose of the liberal arts education at AUA is to develop exceptional professionals who bring self-awareness to their work in the world after graduation and strive tirelessly to improve themselves throughout life so that they can continue to enrich the field of artistic expression. We provide a liberal arts education befitting a university dedicated to the arts by cultivating broad perspectives and diverse values. Our education ensures that, regardless of the field of inquiry, our courses provide examples and applications relevant to the modern world--both to spark students' unique interests and help them become better people.
Our students bring with them a diverse array of interests and expertise, and our programs are set up to allow them to choose to study whatever they are drawn to during their time at the university. Courses--including foreign language courses--are independently selected by each student based on what is personally needed and relevant to them.
